Dr Quinton Matepi is a consultant psychiatrist. He holds Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).He has worked in psychiatry at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Justice Health NSW. He is a member of Sports Medicine Australia and The International Society for Sports Psychiatry.Dr Matepi offers appointments in person at Randwick and by telehealth where clinically appropriate.

Do I need a referral?
Yes — a valid GP or specialist referral is required for Medicare rebates. Without one, you can still attend but will be charged the full fee with no rebate.
How do I arrange an appointment?
Please ask your GP to send a referral and/or fill in our intake form. Once this is received the practice will contact you.
Are telehealth appointments available?
Initial assessments will require in-person attendance. Subsequent telehealth appointments are offered where clinically appropriate.
What age group do you see?
This practice provides assessment and treatment for adults aged 18 to 75 years.
Are appointments available in languages other than English?
Consultations are conducted in English only, please contact the practice if you require communication assistance.
Does an ADHD assessment guarantee diagnosis or medication?
Not necessarily. ADHD assessment does not guarantee diagnosis, stimulant prescribing, or treatment at the first appointment. Where medication is commenced, ongoing follow-up for titration and monitoring is usually required and billed separately.

Do you provide reports or third-party assessments?
No. Dr Matepi does not provide reports, letters, opinions or assessments for third-party administrative, legal, compensation, licensing or eligibility matters. This includes court, medicolegal, expert witness, WorkCover, Centrelink, immigration, housing, NDIS, firearms licence, driver licence, insurance, compensation and impairment-related matters.
Are there any treatments you do not offer?Dr Matepi does not provide medicinal cannabis/cannabinoid prescribing, opioid prescribing or opioid substitution treatment, psychedelic-assisted treatment, ketamine treatment, experimental treatments, detoxification or withdrawal-management services, inpatient care, TMS or ECT. Long-term benzodiazepine prescribing is not offered.Is this service suitable for crisis or high-risk care?No. Dr Matepi does not provide crisis care, emergency psychiatric assessment, inpatient care, detoxification, 24-hour support, or intensive case management. This service is not suitable for acute psychosis, acute mania, severe substance withdrawal, or current suicidal intent.If there is immediate risk of harm to self or others, call 000 or attend the nearest emergency department. For NSW public mental health triage, call the NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511. For crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Initial consultation: $800 (medicare rebate $262.10)
Follow-up consultation: $420 (medicare rebate $134.00)
Assessment and report to referring GP under Medicare item 291, where appropriate: $900 (medicare rebate $455.60)
This is a private billing practice. Bulk billing is not available. Medicare rebates may apply with a valid GP or specialist referral.All appointments are prepaid. If you cancel with more than 48 hours notice, the prepayment may be refunded or transferred to a future appointment.Cancellations within 24 to 48 hours may incur a fee of 50% of the consultation fee. Cancellations within 24 hours, or non-attendance without notice, may result in forfeiture of the full prepayment.
